Lead Local

Lead Local is the Farmington Regional Chamber’s flagship leadership development program, recommended for emerging professionals ages 25 to 40 who are ready to grow personally, professionally, and civically.

Spanning eight transformative months, the program meets one full day per month, beginning in September with an energizing Leadership Retreat led by Marcus Truman, former instructor at the Air Force Leadership Academy. Participants will engage in intensive learning, reflection, and skill-building that lays the foundation for strong, values-driven leadership.

Each monthly session immerses participants in a different sector of St. Francois County and beyond—including city and county government, healthcare, education, workforce development, social services, emergency services, and a powerful visit to Jefferson City for a first-hand look at state government in action.

Throughout the journey, participants will also develop core leadership skills critical to today’s complex professional and civic environments:

  • Ethical decision-making
  • Conflict resolution
  • Team collaboration
  • Negotiation and influence
  • Problem solving
  • Critical thinking
  • Goal setting
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Communication
